贝尔出生在英国，当过特种兵，主持出演过许多冒险类的生存指南节目，比如有名的“《荒野求生》系列”，还出过书。被中国粉丝尊称为“贝爷”的他，空手道达到了黑带级别，还是一位国际演讲家……总之，连男人都觉得他特别帅。
为了宣传节目，贝爷还开通了微博，认证信息里写的是“英国探险家、野外求生专家、主持人 贝尔·格里尔斯”。9 月 27 号，在上海，贝爷从高楼速降，进行节目宣传，同时与粉丝近距离互动。
